Kroth Stonegrinder arrived at the site of the final challenge for his squire. After today, Lanseril Snowmantle will be a knight of Garheim. The test a timed test that the challenger must overcome four challenges in less than 60 seconds. He must shoot a bullseye from across the course, make it through the mud pit and over the net wall and then defend himself against a mock charge of a knight with a lance. A test of endurance and skill. This is the hard time for the trainer - Kroth knows that Lanseril is the ready for this challenge but like mother bird he needs to push him out of the nest.
This build is the second of four builds that I will be doing showing the same area as a structure is built. This build is the first build for the Masons Guild.
Kroth returns to see how the foundation of this construction is going. The owner of the building is acting as the foreman with Kroth has to be in town. Kroth can to the construction site along side the latest round of bricks to continue to build the foundation of the structure.
As sir Kejtar has been becoming more and more aware of his skills he was going through all of the old books that spoke about the healing powers and other various skills associated with his new discovered power. One of the books mentioned the crevice of power. It seems that one of the mountains on his lands has a rock formation that when appropriately stimulated with healing spells would glow all sorts of colors. This was supposed to be how the teachers of old verified that the mage initiates were skilled enough to start practicing their healing craft on actual patients.
His curiosity piqued, he did more research and learned that there were three skills required to pass the test against the wall. He studied the incantations which was not easy as the necessary inflections were hard to learn from books but he was not one to give up easily. After months of practice and study his fourth attempt at the rock formation he saw blue lightning stretch out from his fingers and tickle the wall gently. He felt a sense of accomplishment as he was rewarded with a slow glow which spread through the crevice in the rocks.
This was a welcome sign as well as a disturbing one. Now that he knew that he could do it, he realized that with that came a very big responsibility as trying to heal someone who was gone to far could have fatal repercussions as even with magic there is a certain balance that cannot be broken. If a dying man was healed and brought back from the edge of a grave magic would take another life to keep the balance in check......
Masons Guild Apprentice Build 2 - Installing the Hardware
Korth returns to see how the hardware of the mill is being installed. The water from the quick flowing stream will be able to push the water wheel and eventually be used to make grain in the mill. In addition to putting the the water wheel the windows and door are being installed.
The First Step to Freedom After her recent voyage to New Lenfald and her trip to the CRASH Games held in Northeast Loreos, Caelyan Nagatomi, Needlewoman, is not content to stay in Ainesford and run her shop. She is ready for some adventures on the open road. To accomplish this she commissions a local carpenter to build a wagon to her specifications. These include long shelves for bolts and rolls of fabric and small compartments for the tools of her trade. Pins, needles, thread, scissors, and tape measure will all have their own special compartment. Caelyan also hires a teamster to drive her new wagon as she will be riding her black mare, Ezeria. Ruthren is a friend who used to drive for one of the local merchants, but all the merchants of Ainesford are sending fewer wagons south due to the high tariffs and so he is out of work.
Kroth returns to the location of the mill. After getting a tour from the very excited owner Kroth and the owner shake hands on a successful project. Kroth is thrilled that grain will be able to be produced locally again, which will be a big boost to the local economy.
Sir Kejtar's skills were evolving he realized that he reached a level where he needs to learn to hide his skills. In some of the books he read he learned that there are specific incantations that when called upon will hide his skills from those around him. To test it, he decided to visit a temple which housed the sacred flame of truth. During the hunt for those who practiced black arts, suspects were sent to face the flame and if they turned out to be mages the axes fell and killed them.
